About NSBE

The National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) is one of the largest student-governed organizations based in the United States. NSBE has more than 600 chapters and nearly 24,000 active members in the U.S. and abroad.

The National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) was founded in 1975 at Purdue University by a group of Black engineering students who sought to improve the recruitment and retention of Black engineers

NSBE is governed primarily by college students, with six regional divisions and additional alumni and pre-college programs (known as NSBE Professionals and NSBE Jr.)

Today, NSBE encompasses academic excellence programs, scholarships, leadership training, and career fairs, providing thousands of opportunities for students and professionals annually
